Ms. Leith Macmillan

Director

Leith has brings nearly 40 years' experience in both the Clinical and Executive Management roles within the Public and Private Health Industry and specifically the Day Hospital / Surgery environment. In the early 1980’s, as a Registered Nurse (specialising in the Operating Theatres), Leith was instrumental in developing one of the first Day Procedure Units in a large Private Hospital in Brisbane and lead the unit for 6 years.


In the mid 1990’s, she was recruited to work for a Doctor/Owner that went on to develop 4 freestanding Day Hospitals spread across Brisbane.


Leith was responsible for the design, development and overall management of these Facilities. At this time she commenced an MBA and acquired a Diploma in Business Management through Australian Institute of Management.


Whilst CEO of these Day Hospitals, she saw the need to strengthen the profile and representation of Australian Day Hospitals’ In 2004 until 2007, one of her major achievements was the financial and structural rebuilding of the Australasian Day Surgery Association into what is known today as Day Hospitals Australia (DHA). Leith was the awarded the inaugural Life Member of the DHA in 2008, in recognition for her commitment and dedication to the growth in membership across Australia, as well as the financial viability.


Leith is currently overseeing the development of a number of Day Hospital and other Health Facilities within Australia, and can perform multi roles - Director of Nursing, Project Manager, Compliance Manager, Administration Support, Quality Management Officer etc.


JENNIE LEKICH

Jennie’s clinical expertise is in the Intensive Care, Neurosurgical ICU and specifically the Operating Theatre. She has had many years of experience having been the co-founder of a stand-alone day greenfield hospital (three theatres and one procedure room) and lead the business as the Director of Nursing.


Jennie commenced the Juris Doctor of Law at Bond University. Completing this with a Cum Laude, she was asked back to Bond to assist teaching Corporations, Taxation and Contract Law. Enjoying this immensely, Jennie then completed the Bar course and is currently a Barrister At Law in Queensland. 


Jennie became a co-founder of a number of health entities and during maturation of these businesses she completed an MBA. She has been hands on in both a clinical and practice management role with a key responsibility for implementation. The business entities now operate several satellite clinics in the eastern states of Australia.


With the combination of Jennies operational management expertise, strong perioperative management skills and ‘hands-on’ clinical skills, Jennie has expanded her skills further into Quality Management. Having ‘turned’ every stone from site acquisition to setting up theatre instrumentation, Jennie is familiar with the legislative and building requirements for health facilities. Jennie has also been instrumental in setting up the systems for accreditation in both day hospitals and overnight facilities.
